Who Are We?

FJR1 Living History/Re-enactment group are dedicated to reliving the lives and preserving the memory of the service men and women of the
German Fallschirmjäger paratrooper.  By utilising as much original equipment as possible (replica only being used when original kit
cannot be obtained) we act out many scenarios including static dioramas, battle scenes, living in the barracks and day to day life in the 1939-45
conflict.

The group are West Midlands based, however we welcome new members from any location to join in the fun.  The location of a member is really irrelevant as many of the events we attend are country wide.  Made up of enthusiasts, the group enjoy days and sometimes weekends together where we practise drill, learn the skills required by our occupation (in the regiment) and learn about the regiment in order to deliver a much more focused and interesting show for those who come to see us.

As a friendly interactive group we pride ourselves on our knowledge of the Fallschirmjäger and share this information willingly with the public and other re-enactment/Living History groups at any opportunity.

All members of the group are dedicated to the memory of those who served in the war and do not share the political views of the German Government during the period leading up to and or during the conflict.  Several members have served with the armed forces (British) and have seen conflict throughout the world – we all however understand that war is something that none of us wish to be involved and are totally aware of the horrors it brings to our lands and its peoples.  Therefore it is imperative that if you wish to join or hire the group that you share the same views as us.

FJR1 LogoWe are the proud owners of a growing collection of vehicles and welcome members who wish to display their kit as part of the vehicle or re-enactment
section of the group.  Our eyes are peeled worldwide for good vehicles; please see the ‘Armoury’ for further details regarding our motor pool.

The group is available for photo-shoots, documentary and film work for which we provide our own kit.  We are also available for private and public events; you can email us with your details and requirements which we will be more than happy to discuss with you if you are interested.

Join Us

Our group is available to anyone who has a keen interest in the German Airborne Forces of WW2 and is willing to dedicate some of their time in order to attend events and group meetings.  For members who cannot attend group meetings on a regular basis due to their location a summary of the discussions will be emailed to them following the event.

Please note our dress regulations page for uniform and equipment requirements. We have lots of kit and may be willing to loan equipment at events to members until they can purchase their own.

If you are interested in the Fallschirmjäger (FJR1) and wish to join our group please email us:
